It seems when the Lord wants to speak to me about something and get my attention, I hear it 3, 4 or even more times. Then I have to address it and admit I have an issue that I need to deal with. Recently, my mom asked how things were going at work. I explained what was going on and she said, "Sounds like you have a pride issue to deal with."
Note: With my mom whenever I express what's going on in my life that gives her new ways to pray for me.
Then in my daily devotional reading, I read Psalms 138:6 (above). Next, Pastor Terry mentions pride in his sermon, and we discussed the pride of life (1 John 2:16 and Genesis 3:5) in our Community Group. Then, at our Wednesday night study, during Pastor Terry's teaching he talked about pride again. Wow.
"My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD, nor detest His correction; For whom the LORD loves He corrects, just as a father the son in whom he delights." Proverbs 3:11 & 12 (NKJV)
"The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; Pride and arrogance and the evil way and the perverse mouth I hate." Proverbs 8:13 (NKJV)
I'm glad our Father loves us and wants to correct us. Lord, help us to hate evil, pride and arrogance. Continue to mold us, for You are the potter and we are the clay.
