Do you know what the Good News is? It's the Gospel message. The Gospel means Good News. In the Noah Webster 1828 Dictionary it defines Gospel as:
“A good or joyful message, it's what Jesus has done for us through his birth, life, actions, death, resurrection, ascension and doctrine.”
After Jesus was baptized by John, He began his Galilean Ministry preaching the Gospel. In the Gospel of Mark, the author says, “Later on, after John was arrested, Jesus went into Galilee, where he preached God's Good News. ‘The time promised by God has come at last!’ he announced. ‘The Kingdom of God is near! Repent of your sins and believe the Good News!’” Mark 1:14-15 (NLT)
You may or not realize it, but as Christians our life and actions are preaching with or without words. Just the other day at work one of the technicians I was helping used some pretty foul language and I did not say a word. He started apologizing right away and saying that he usually doesn't talk like that. I could see the Lord was working on his heart. I just prayed for him.
I believe what Jesus said, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand. Repent, and believe in the gospel.”
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved. Romans 10:9-10 (NLT)
